Meet Jennifer Retana, Au.D

Dr. Jennifer Retana completed her Doctor of Audiology degree through the Joint Doctoral Program of Audiology at San Diego State University and the University of California San Diego. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from California State University, Los Angeles. Prior to joining the practice, she served as a bilingual adult and pediatric audiologist at University of California, San Francisco and Scripps Health for six years. Her clinical experience includes working with adults as well as typically developing and non-typically developing children; she is skilled at adapting testing methods to ensure each patient feels comfortable and supported throughout the evaluation process. Patients quickly recognize her compassionate nature and her commitment to providing thoughtful, individualized care.

Jennifer strongly believes in meeting patients where they are and guiding them toward a clear understanding of their hearing health. She recognizes that every individual has a unique level of health literacy and readiness to pursue treatment, and she tailors care accordingly. As a Spanish-speaking provider, she finds it especially meaningful to bridge communication gaps for families who may otherwise feel overwhelmed or unheard. Her philosophy centers on patient-centered care, education, and partnership, ensuring that every patient feels empowered, respected, and confident in their journey toward better hearing.
